Why Descaling Matters

Tankless Water Heater Descaling Procedure

1. Disconnect power to the water heater.
2. Close the hot and cold isolation valves and remove the service caps.
3. Add approximately 1.25 gallons of water to the bucket.
4. Pour one quart of Flow-Aide into the bucket.
5. Connect the pump hose to the cold service valve.
6. Connect the return hose from the hot service valve back into the bucket.
7. Open both service valves and start the pump.
8. Circulate the solution through the system for 30 to 45 minutes.
9. Turn off and disconnect the pump.
10. Dispose of the used solution according to local regulations.
11. Flush the water heater with clean water for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the discharge runs clear.
12. Reconnect the service caps and return the unit to operation.
