Flow-Aide Biodegradable Descaler is a non-toxic concentrate which is certified to NSF/ANSI 60 for use as a cleaner in portable water systems, such as beverage, pharmaceutical, bottling, poultry, and other food processing plants. Whitlam Flow Aide System Descaler Kit has been designed to work with Tankless Water Heaters that provide 3/4" hot and cold service connections.

Flow-Aide has the ability to dissolve approximately two pounds of calcium carbonate scale per US gallon while at 70 Degrees F in concentrated form.

Descaling Procedure:

1. Disconnect power to your water heater. Close hot and cold isolation and service valves and remove service caps.
2. Pour 1.25 gallons of water into bucket and place bucket under water heater. 
3. Add 1 quart of Whitlam Flow-Aide into bucket. The higher the concentration, the faster the system will be cleaned. Minimum dilutions is 1 part water to 1 part Flow-Aide. Be sure to have enough solution to keep the pump submersed when in use.
4. Connect one end of one hose to the pump, and the other end of the same hose to the cold service valve. Place pump in bucket.
5. Connect one end of the second hose to hot service valve. Place the other end of the same hose in the bucket with the water and Whitlam Flow-Aide mixture.
6. Open both hot and cold service valves, and plug pump into grounded receptacle.
7. Allow pump to circulate Whitlam Flow-Aide solution through heater for 30-45 minutes, then unplug pump.
8. Close cold service valve, remove hose from cold service valve, and replace service cap.
9. Disconnect the hose from the pump and remove pump from bucket. Discard Whitlam Flow-Aide solution.
10. Flush tankless water heater for 3-5 minutes or until water flows clear by opening the cold isolation valve and allowing water to exit through the hot service valve into a drain or bucket.
11. Close hot service valve, remove hose from service valve, and replace service cap.
12. Open hot isolation valve.
13. Connect power to water heater and return appliance to service.
