SharkBite oxygen barrier PEX is a cross-linked polyethylene tubing designed for use in radiant or hydronic heating applications. Oxygen barrier PEX has an oxygen barrier applied to the exterior of the pipe, which limits oxygen permeation through the tubing wall in hydronic heating applications preventing corrosion of metal parts in the heating system. PEX pipe is flexible and easy to work with, which reduces the number of fittings needed to complete a job; reducing cost and leak points. PEX is also extremely durable and corrosion/freeze resistant. SharkBite PEX is compatible with brass or plastic barb fittings using copper crimp ring or stainless steel clamp connection methods or push-to-connect fittings.
- Oxygen barrier PEX is approved for non-potable radiant heating systems and for burial applications including concrete; Approved for use with SharkBite EvoPEX™, SharkBite Universal push-to-connect (ASSE 1061), plastic barb (ASTM F2159) and brass barb (ASTM F1807) fittings; Certified to meet ASTM F2023 oxidative-resistance requirements for continuous hot water recirculation.
