As the calendar turns the page to a new year and a new decade, now is the time to flip the switch on a bathroom renovation. We surveyed our showroom team to identify the top trends we expect in 2020 bathroom remodeling.
Freestanding tubs will continue to be on-trend in the coming year with many remodels featuring sculptural tubs that create a striking focal point in the bath. Manufacturers continue to expand their offerings, producing tubs with unique shapes, sizes, finishes, functionality, and materials. Color options abound. Black skirted and colored tubs will continue to trend through 2020 and material choices expected to dominate the market include stone, concrete, marble, and copper. Air and jetted system tubs will attract favor among homeowners who also are discovering and appreciating accessories that include light, aroma and music therapies, along with heated backrests.
Demand for technologically sophisticated and multifunctional toilets will continue to expand as an increasing number of homeowners recognize the benefits of self-cleaning toilets, integrated bidet seats, self-opening and closing seats, lights and Bluetooth connectivity.
Wall-mounted vanities and toilets not only create a dramatic impression, they also save valuable space and make baths easier to clean.
The transformation of the bath from a place to bathe to a space for relaxation and rejuvenation is ongoing. Increasingly, homeowners are including benches, stools and comfortable chairs in their bath and plan to spend more time pampering themselves and taking a few minutes a day to recharge their batteries.
We continue to see powder rooms adorned with striking wallpaper or other materials to make a bold and unique individual design statement.
Many of homeowners are renovating to adapt to a lifestyle change, disability or to prepare to age in place. We continue to specify curbless showers, decorative grab bars, hands-free faucets, accessible water closets and products that enable our clients to age in place easily and with the grace and dignity that they expect and deserve.
