The General Wire 3F Flood Guard helps protect basements and lower-level areas from sewer backups and flooding. Designed for use with 3-inch floor drains, this device uses a float mechanism that automatically seals the drain opening when wastewater begins to back up through the pipe.
During normal operation, water flows freely through the drain. If the sewer line becomes overloaded and water rises in the drain, the float lifts to create a seal that helps prevent water from entering the building. Once the water recedes, the float lowers and normal drainage resumes.
