The General Wire 2F Flood Guard helps prevent basement flooding caused by sewer backups. Designed for use with standard 2-inch floor drains, this device uses a float mechanism that automatically seals the drain opening when wastewater begins to back up through the pipe.
During normal operation, water flows freely through the drain. If the sewer line becomes overloaded and water rises in the pipe, the float lifts and forms a seal that helps prevent wastewater from entering the building. Once the pressure subsides, the float lowers and normal drainage resumes.
